The Course

18 Challenging holes...

Ilfracombe Golf Club is a challenging 18 hole course, established in 1892, situated on top of the rugged cliffs of the North Devon Coast. Whilst not the longest of courses, the uniqueness of this beautiful golf club is that every hole offers its own individual challenges.

To give you just a little taster of what an amazing course this is, here are few examples of some of the tees:

The 'Quarry' requires a good swing to aim over an old quarry, where the green is a challenging two putt even if you have found the middle of the green!

The 'Up n Over' leads you across a fabulous undulating course, which, combined with its exposed position, throws up a few surprises.

The 'Bull's Field' tees off from an elevated position, requiring you to drive across a field, hedge and stream to reach the fairway.

'Cloud Nine' requires a drive uphill and over a rocky outcrop before you first set eyes on the green.

Fabulous coastal views...

Boasting a 'view of the sea from every tee', Ilfracombe Golf Club enjoys idyllic views of the sea, the Welsh Coast, Lundy Island and the rolling green hills of Devon.

The spectacular views match those of any course in the UK and this exceptionally well maintained course will challenge even the most experienced golfers.

The course consists of lush fairways, tempting but tantalising greens, and a sometimes mischievous wind which combine to provide all the ingredients for a round of golf that will test the best.

Because of Ilfracombe's micro-climate and the intensive maintenance of the undulating course, it is playable all year round and buggies are available for those who may find the hills a little too challenging!
